Once again, this breed is believed to have its origines in Kent maybe surrey but defiantly the South East of England. It is one of the largest Bantam breeds and is sometimes referred to as not a “true” bantam. They like their larger counterparts are a dual-purpose bird traditionally kept for both meat and eggs. We believe these are still one of the best birds for the small chicken keeper. As they are very hardy and easy to look after. They are also happy to forage come rain or shine.
